LED downlights
Swap halogens for LEDs to cut lighting power use, reduce heat in the ceiling and stop changing globes. Warm white suits living areas, a cooler white suits kitchens and workspaces.
From LED downlights that cut your power bill to garden, pool and facade lighting that shows off your place at night. Joel plans and installs lighting for homes and businesses across the Peninsula and south-east Melbourne.
LED downlights use a fraction of the power of old halogens, run much cooler and last for years, so replacing them is one of the easiest upgrades in an older home. Dimmable LEDs and warm or adjustable colour make it easy to set the mood room by room.
Feature lighting is the finishing touch: pendants over the kitchen bench, uplights in the garden, lights around the pool, backlit house numbers, and lighting along paths and decks. Outside, fittings need the right weatherproof rating and, near the coast, materials that handle salt air.

Pendants over a bench or dining table, wall lights, and LED strip under cabinets add character and put light exactly where you need it.
Uplights on trees and walls, path and deck lights, pool lighting and backlit house numbers make a home safer and look great at night.
Lights can also run on timers, sensors or smart controls.

great communication and easy to arrange the job with. Very prompt, polite and professional and very happy with the work performed. I’ll be asking Joel to do electrical work for me again.

A typical LED downlight uses around 8 to 12 watts, compared with about 50 watts for an old halogen, so the saving across a whole house adds up quickly. LEDs also run cooler and last far longer.
Sometimes, but old halogen transformers and fittings often don’t suit LED globes, which can flicker or fail early. Replacing the whole fitting with an integrated LED downlight is usually the better job.
Many are, but the downlight and the dimmer have to be compatible. Joel can match them so the lights dim smoothly without flickering or buzzing.
Warm white, around 3000K, suits living areas and bedrooms. Natural or cool white suits kitchens, laundries and workspaces. Some downlights let you switch between colours.
Yes. Outdoor fittings need a suitable weatherproof (IP) rating, and in-ground, garden and pool lights have their own requirements. Near the coast, choose materials that handle salt air.
